About the work

What's the typical turnaround time for a long-form edit?

Standard turnaround is 24–72 hours from upload to final delivery. That covers pacing decisions, retention engineering, sound design, color grading, and end-screen optimization. Expedited turnaround (24h) is available for high-volume clients. Turnaround is measured from when raw footage and brief are in hand, not from inquiry.

Do I need to sign an NDA or contract?

For per-video work, no formal contract — just an invoice and email chain. For retainers, a simple one-page statement of work outlining scope, price, turnaround, and termination terms. Both are routine and non-restrictive.

How do I brief you? What do I need to send?

Raw footage (Google Drive link or MEGA), a short brief covering tone/vibe, any style references, and context about the video (episode number, series status, key beats). Most briefs are 3–5 sentences. I ask clarifying questions via Discord within 4 hours of upload.

How do we communicate during the edit?

Discord for working drafts, questions, and day-to-day revisions. Email for quotes, contracts, and binding decisions. This keeps the rapid back-and-forth in Discord without losing important agreements in chat history.

Is editing done solo or by a team?

I personally lead every project — pacing decisions, hook engineering, style matching, retention review. Overflow capacity for high-volume channels is handled by vetted editors on my team. Communication is single-point-of-contact with me, not split across multiple people.

What editing software do you use?

Primary: Adobe Premiere Pro for timeline, Adobe After Effects for motion graphics and color, DaVinci Resolve for final color grading and audio mixing. I'm fluent in all three and can adapt to your existing workflow if needed.

Pricing & payment

How much does a single long-form edit cost?

Per-video pricing ranges from $300–$500 depending on video length, revision rounds, and complexity. A 10-minute video sits at $350; a 25-minute deep-dive with multiple B-roll sequences might be $500. The quote is tailored to your channel after a channel audit.

Do you offer a retainer model?

Yes. Retainers range from $1.2K–$1.8K per month depending on upload cadence and scope. A 2–3 video per week channel at $1.5K/month is typical. Retainers lock in priority turnaround and often reduce the per-video cost versus one-offs.

Is there a discount for multi-video or long-term contracts?

Not a percentage discount, but retainer pricing locks in a lower effective per-video rate than one-offs. For a creator uploading 3+ videos per week, a retainer is 15–20% cheaper than paying $400/video individually.

How do you accept payment?

Invoice-based payment via Stripe, PayPal, or bank transfer (for retainers). For per-video work, invoices are sent after upload; payment is due before delivery. Retainers are due on the first of each month. All international payments accepted.

Process & turnaround

What's your revision policy?

Two revision rounds are included in all per-video quotes. Additional revisions are $50 each. Retainer clients have unlimited revisions within scope (no scope creep like complete re-editing or adding new B-roll). Revisions are returned within 24 hours.

What if I'm not happy with the first edit?

Use the two included revision rounds to refine style, pacing, or hook approach. If after two rounds it's still not a fit, I'll recommend an editor I trust instead and you pay no second invoice. Compatibility matters more than forcing a bad fit.

What happens if I request changes after delivery?

Post-delivery changes are $50 per revision round, billed separately. If the change is small (audio adjustment, text tweak), I often handle it without charge for active clients.

What if I need the edit faster than 72 hours?

24-hour expedited turnaround is available for an additional 20% surcharge ($420–$600 instead of $350–$500). Availability depends on current capacity. Email kevin@umbrellacreators.com with the request and I'll confirm within 2 hours.

Can you work on an existing video that's already uploaded?

Yes. Send the raw footage and I'll re-edit. Once done, you replace the uploaded version in YouTube Studio (same video ID). Note: YouTube resets some metrics (likes, comments, view count) during the process, so this works best for videos less than 24 hours old.

Languages & team

Do you work with non-English channels?

Yes. I'm fully bilingual in English and Spanish. I work with Spanish-language creators across LATAM, Spain, and the US Hispanic market. Default dialect is neutro latinoamericano; I adapt to castellano (Spain) or rioplatense (Argentina) on request. Briefs, revisions, and feedback are answered in whichever language you send them.

Do I need to use a specific channel niche to book?

Strongest in Roblox, Minecraft, general gaming, lifestyle, tech, and finance. I've worked with creators across 9K to 12.4M subscribers in these categories. The niche directory at umbrellacreators.com/for/ lists all 12+ niches I serve. If your niche isn't listed, email and I'll evaluate fit.

Do you edit all video lengths or only long-form?

Long-form only: 8 to 30+ minute videos. I don't edit shorts or TikToks — the optimization model is completely different. The retention-graph approach that works for YouTube long-form doesn't transfer to 60-second vertical formats.

Contracts & legal

Do I own the edit or does Umbrella?

You own the final edit. Once delivered and paid, all files, project files, and the video itself are yours to use, modify, or re-upload. I retain no rights unless the brief explicitly assigns them otherwise (rare).

Do you do a free trial or sample edit?

No free samples. I offer a paid trial: send one raw video, pay the standard per-video rate ($350–$400), and I edit it fully. If you're not happy, you don't book more work — no penalty. Most creators who try one video sign on for a retainer.

Do you offer a money-back guarantee?

No explicit guarantee, but the paid trial model acts as one. If the first edit isn't a fit, you don't book more. For retainer clients, you can cancel anytime with 30 days' notice, no penalty.

What if I cancel a retainer?

30 days' written notice via email. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the current month. No penalty, no questions. If you cancel with less notice, you're invoiced for the current month.
