YouTube editor for Canadian creators
Bogotá-based editing studio with EST/PST timezone overlap. Same-day turnaround for Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver creators. CAD or USD invoicing. 24–72h delivery on long-form YouTube videos, 10–30 minutes.
Canadian creators compete in the North American YouTube ecosystem. Your audience watches the same trends as US viewers but has distinct preferences: less hype-driven, more authenticity, stronger community focus. You're used to US rates but you're budgeting in CAD. Hiring locally means premium pricing ($150+ CAD minimum per video). Hiring US editors is unreliable — they deprioritize you because they're working in a larger market.
We work with Canadian creators as core clients. Many of our US-based clients are actually Canadian (Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary). We understand the timezone advantage: EST overlap for immediate feedback, PST creators still get morning-ready edits. We invoice in CAD. We understand Canadian YouTube culture — it's not "be louder and faster," it's "be authentic and smart." If you're a Canadian creator serious about scaling through long-form YouTube, this page is for you.
Why Canadian creators choose us
Three concrete reasons:
- Timezone overlap without the cost — You're paying less than a Canadian freelancer but getting same-day EST turnaround. Upload by 8pm EST, edit ready 8am EST. PST creators upload 8pm PST, edit ready 10am EST (~7am their time).
- CAD invoicing, no currency games — We invoice in CAD. No sneaky USD-to-CAD conversions. You know the price upfront.
- North American audience expertise — We've edited 100+ Canadian channels and studied Canadian audience behavior. We know what works for Toronto tech, Vancouver lifestyle, Montreal creators, Alberta gaming. Your brief gets someone who understands the market.
Canadian creators often get deprioritized by US teams. A US freelancer has 10 Canadian clients and 40 American ones. Guess whose deadlines slip? We specialize in long-form editing, period. You're not competing with wedding videographers or corporate work. You're our focus.
What you actually get
- Retention-first hook — first 15 seconds optimized for Canadian audience behavior. North American viewers expect authenticity. We make sure your hook delivers that.
- Pacing for your genre — gaming gets 2.5–4s average shot length. Tech/education gets 4–6s. Lifestyle gets 3–5s. We don't apply the same pacing to everything.
- Color grading tuned for Canadian standards — professional, clear, not oversaturated. Your video looks broadcast-quality, not influencer-filtered.
- Sound design for home viewing — dialogue at -6dB, ambient at -18dB. Your audience can watch in a kitchen and still hear everything. No hearing-damage pacing.
- Hook engineering on retainer — we analyze your last 5 retention graphs and design the next hook specifically against where your audience drops.
- Thumbnail coordination — we send edit stills that match your actual hook, so your thumbnail and video align.
- CAD-specific invoicing — Invoice after first edit, payment NET 7. Wise transfer, no fees, CAD to CAD, done.
- Two revision rounds — major recutting and content changes. Pick-ups and color tweaks unlimited.
Types of Canadian channels we work with
- Gaming (Roblox, Minecraft, indie, AAA) — we've edited Roblox channels for Canadian creators with 100K+ subs. Fast pacing, retention-optimized.
- Tech and education — Canadian tech creators are strong. Toronto and Vancouver both have solid creator communities. We edit SaaS reviews, coding tutorials, product breakdowns.
- Lifestyle and vlogs — Canadian vlogging has a specific tone (laid-back, authentic, humor-driven). We preserve it.
- Commentary and news — if you're discussing current events or culture, we keep your voice intact and optimize for argument clarity.
- Creator economy and business — Canadian creators teaching other creators. We understand that audience and that pacing.

Canadian editing FAQ
Is the timezone overlap real?
Completely. EST creators (Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal) have 1:1 timezone match. Upload 7pm, edit ready 8am. PST creators (Vancouver, Victoria) are 2 hours behind, so upload 7pm PST = 9pm EST for us, edit ready 8am EST (5am PST). Still morning for you. For Atlantic creators: you're 1 hour ahead, so upload 7pm = 6pm for us, edit ready 7–8am your time.
Do you understand Canadian culture and humor?
Yes. We've worked with multiple Canadian creators. We get the Toronto tech scene, Vancouver wellness and lifestyle content, Montreal's creative community, and that Canadian humor is more subtle than American. We preserve your voice.
Can I pay in USD if I prefer?
Sure. We offer USD pricing too ($300–500/video). But CAD invoicing is simpler for you — no conversion headache. Wise makes the transfer frictionless either way.
What if I'm in Atlantic time or Mountain time?
We work with all Canadian timezones. Atlantic (EDT/UTC-3) — you're 2 hours ahead, upload 7pm = 5pm for us, edit ready 6–7am your time. Mountain (MDT/UTC-6) — upload 8pm MDT = 10pm EDT for us, edit ready 8am EDT = 6am MDT. Slightly longer wait, but still next-morning delivery.
Do you invoice for GST/HST?
We invoice in CAD before tax. You add GST/HST if applicable to your province. We can also discuss whether Umbrella Creators' Colombian registration changes your tax situation — it's usually simplified for service imports, but ask your accountant.
Can I do a trial before committing?
Yes. First edit is a trial. If retention doesn't improve by your target (we set expectations on the discovery call), you don't pay. We're confident it will work, and this policy proves it.
