YouTube editor for Madden NFL tournament channels
Long-form editing for Madden NFL channels: a tournament bracket the viewer can follow, a scoreboard that stays readable, play highlights cut to the commentary and 24 minute runtimes that hold together. I edited 13 videos for SquadZilla between November 2025 and February 2026.

Madden tournament videos I edited for SquadZilla
SquadZilla (247K subscribers) is the channel behind the "99 Yard Tournament" series: one play type, every quarterback, every receiver or every position, bracket after bracket, in videos of around 24 minutes. I edited 13 projects for the channel between November 2025 and February 2026. Some of them:
- 99 Yard Tournament with EVERY NFL QB! (25 Nov 2025)
- 99 Yard Tournament with EVERY X Factor PLAYER! (16 Dec 2025)
- 99 Yard Tournament with ALL 32 NFL WR's! (9 Dec 2025)
- 99 Yard KICK RETURN CHAOS Tournament with EVERY RB! (2 Dec 2025)
- NFL Birthday Imperialism in Madden 26! (13 Feb 2026)
- LEVEL 1 to 100 EXTREME Madden Tournament! (30 Jan 2026)
The full list is further down this page and in the portfolio. Everything below is how I cut those videos, and what I would do with yours.
The bracket is the story
A 32 team tournament is 31 matchups. Shown one after another with nothing on screen, they blur into the same 99 yard play repeated for 24 minutes, and that is where a tournament video loses people: not at a bad play, but at the moment the viewer stops knowing where they are.
So the bracket is the first graphic I build, before any cut. It appears in the opening, it comes back between rounds, and it lives in the same corner every episode so a returning viewer reads it without thinking. Three rules:
- The matchup is announced before the snap. Who is playing and what round it is, on screen, every single time. Even if the commentary already said it.
- Early rounds are compressed, late rounds get room. A first round blowout is the setup, the play and the result. A semifinal is allowed to breathe, with the full build-up and the reaction.
- Eliminations are visible. When a fan favourite goes out, the bracket shows it. That is the moment viewers comment on, so I make sure it is on screen, not just in the audio.
Scoreboard and play highlights
Every 99 yard play has the same shape: the snap, the throw or hand-off, the catch or the run, and the result. The edit keeps that shape and removes everything around it: play selection menus, the game's own replays, the walk back to the line, loading screens. What the viewer sees is one play after another, with the result on a scoreboard that updates on the cut, not three seconds later.
- Punch-in on the catch. A one-handed grab or a broken tackle gets a zoom and, if it earns it, a short slow-motion replay. Once per play at most. A replay on every play is the same as no replay.
- Impact sounds on the hits, sized to the moment. A clean 99 yard house call does not sound the same as a stuffed run.
- The score stays readable on a phone screen: big numbers, high contrast, nothing that only reads on a monitor.
- Kick Return Chaos and shrunken field formats change the geometry of every play, so the graphic placement moves with it. The scoreboard never covers the returner.
Commentary pacing across 24 minutes
The plays are the rhythm; the commentary is the content. In a Madden tournament the creator is reacting live to each result, and the reaction is what the audience came for. The edit protects it.
What I do: cut to the reaction the instant the play resolves, trim the dead air between plays without clipping the end of a sentence, and keep the creator's own call of the play ahead of the game audio. What I avoid: cutting a reaction short to get to the next play faster. A fast edit with no reactions is a highlight reel, not a SquadZilla video.
For the middle of the video, where a 24 minute runtime is most at risk, I alternate: a matchup that goes to plan, then an upset, then a quick run of chalk results compressed into a montage with the bracket ticking forward. Chapters per round in the timeline, so a viewer who skips lands on a round, not in the middle of a play.
Beyond the 99 Yard Tournament: Imperialism, Level 1 to 100, Super Bowl 60
SquadZilla's channel is not one format. In the 13 videos I edited there were NFL Birthday Imperialism in Madden 26!, LEVEL 1 to 100 EXTREME Madden Tournament!, ULTIMATE 99 Yard Super Bowl 60 Tournament with every NFL POSITION! and Kick Return Chaos on a SHRUNKEN FILED!. Each one has its own rule set, and the rule set is the thing the edit has to teach.
- The rules are explained once, in the opening, with graphics. After that they are tracked on screen, never re-explained in the middle.
- Every format gets its own progress counter. A level number, a round, a remaining-teams count. The viewer should be able to answer "how far along is this?" at any second.
- The title promise is paid off early. If the title says every position, the opening shows the range of positions in play. If it says Super Bowl 60, the final is built up like a final.
The system is generic on purpose: a new format from your channel gets the same treatment, with the graphics matched to your branding rather than SquadZilla's.
What to send and how to start
For a Madden tournament edit I need the raw gameplay capture (1080p60 or higher), your mic track separate from the game audio if you can, the facecam if you use one, the bracket or the list of results so I can build the graphics without guessing, and the title and thumbnail idea. The title is the brief: it tells me what the opening has to show.
- Free 1 minute trial on your own footage, so you judge the bracket, the scoreboard and the pacing before paying anything.
- No contract. One video at a time if you prefer.
- First video in 1 to 5 days, 1 to 2 days after that. Changes in under 24 hours.
- Payment in USD by PayPal or USDC.

FAQ
Do you edit Madden NFL tournament videos?
Yes. I edited 13 videos for SquadZilla (247K subscribers) between November 2025 and February 2026, most of them 99 Yard Tournament videos of around 24 minutes, plus formats like Kick Return Chaos, NFL Birthday Imperialism and a Level 1 to 100 tournament. The videos are listed on this page.
What do you need from me to edit a 99 Yard Tournament?
The raw gameplay capture, your commentary track (separate from the game audio if possible), the facecam if you record one, the bracket or the list of results, and the title and thumbnail idea. With that I can build the bracket graphic and the scoreboard before I start cutting.
How do you keep a 24 minute tournament from feeling repetitive?
By making progress visible and uneven. The bracket comes back between rounds, early rounds are compressed into short setup-play-result beats, upsets and late rounds get room, and the creator's reaction is never cut short. Chapters per round let a viewer skip to a round instead of into a random play.
Do you edit other football or sports game formats?
The system on this page (bracket, scoreboard, highlight cuts, reaction-first pacing) is not tied to Madden. Send one raw recording of your format and I will edit one minute of it for free, so you can see how it translates before deciding.
Can I try you before committing to a full video?
Yes. The free 1 minute trial is cut from your own footage, with your branding. No contract and no minimum after that: the first full video takes 1 to 5 days, the following ones 1 to 2 days, and changes come back in under 24 hours.
