Movie recap YouTube video editor for hire
I’m Kevin Tabares, a long-form YouTube editor: you send the script and voiceover, I edit and find archive, licensed stock, maps and graphics. My closest work is a Marvel movie quiz I edited on jayesss_’s channel; I haven’t edited movie recaps for a client yet, so start with a free 1-minute test. $55–$150 per finished video depending on complexity; up to $300 for some long or complex edits.
Free 1-minute test edit · From $55 per video · No contract · Revisions back within 24 h
9.8/10 average: 20 YT Jobs reviews from 19 client channels, 17 of them a perfect 10/10
Quick fit check: is this editor right for your channel?
- Video types
- Movies explained, series recaps by season, endings explained, theories, sagas in timeline order, character breakdowns
- Editing style
- What I would do in a recap: your voice and your analysis in front, short and transformed clips (framing, pause, text on top), a structure in acts with cards and a spoiler warning. Close to picking the exact frame in the Marvel movie quiz I edited on jayesss_’s channel
- Video length
- I edit from 8-minute videos to feature-length. Up to 20 minutes is the $150 package and up to 35 minutes the $300 one; longer videos get a custom quote. The Spy Show’s Eli Cohen episode runs 21 minutes and The Interpreter’s Tenerife documentary 13; Swaylemc’s full movies on my YT Jobs profile run 60 to 234 minutes.
- Upload schedule
- One video only, 1 video per week, 2–3 videos per week, 4 videos per month or several a week (Mud: about 3 a week). Start with one pilot: the free 1-minute test edit.
- Format
- Long-form YouTube videos are the core. YouTube Shorts cut from each long video on request.
- What you send me
- A finished script and narration (script and voiceover). I edit and find the visuals: archive footage, licensed stock, maps, timelines and graphics.
- Estimated price
- About $55 to $150 per finished video (up to $300 for some long or complex edits), depending on length, raw footage and effects. That fits the ‘$50+’ and ‘$100–$300 per video’ boxes for most long videos. Four videos a month: about $220 to $600 (more for long or complex videos); a $500 a month budget usually covers two to four long videos, depending on length. Exact quote within 24 hours, after a free 1-minute test edit.
- Channel size
- From under 1K subscribers (Mr. Marticson, 834) and small to mid-size channels (ThatNoob 4.9K, Crazz 10.7K, DakBlox 82.6K: 0 to 2M+ views in six months) up to 2M+ (Rex 2.29M, Puff 1.83M, Mud 1.26M)
- Turnaround
- First video in 1 to 5 days, then 1 to 2 days; revisions back within 24 hours
- Track record
- Proven YouTube results: 1,277 videos tracked on YT Jobs and 20 reviews from 19 client channels, 17 of them 10/10. Long-term work: Mud since March 2025, about 3 videos a week.
- Who you work with
- Kevin Tabares, directly. I review every video before it reaches you.
- Channel language
- English or Spanish
- Terms
- Paid in USD by PayPal or USDC. No contract, no minimum.
- Closest proof
- I haven’t edited movie recaps for a client yet. Closest long-form work: “Can You Guess the Marvel Movie From JUST ONE FRAME?” on jayesss_ (511K subscribers), 9.7K views; “Eli Cohen: Mossad’s Greatest Spy | True Life Spy Stories” on The Spy Show (832 subscribers), 90 views
My experience with movie recaps, plainly
- Proven: My YT Jobs profile tracks 1,277+ videos and 152M+ views, with 20 client reviews averaging 9.8/10. My narrated documentary work: I edit The Spy Show, a spy-history series by Vincent Meijer, and I delivered The Interpreter’s documentary on the Tenerife air disaster (78K subscribers).
- Not proven yet: Movie and series recaps for a client. The closest I have edited is a quiz video built from movie frames.
- How to check it before paying: The free 1-minute test edit on your own script and voiceover, before you pay anything.
How I would edit your movie recaps
I haven’t edited a recap channel yet, so this is my plan for your voiceover. First, what matters most: rights.
Rights, clear from the start
A recap that only strings scenes together with a voice on top is what Content ID claims and what YouTube can treat as reused content. What usually holds is your commentary and your analysis. The decision is yours (I’m not a lawyer): I edit with what you decide to use and flag long stretches without voice.
Your voice leads, the scene supports
Every clip is there because the voice needs it: to show a character, a detail or a twist. Short clips with framing, a pause or text on top, rather than whole scenes.
A structure in acts
Setup, middle and ending, with a card for each part and YouTube chapters. In endings explained, the theory is clearly separated from what the film shows.
Names on screen
In series with many characters, a name card the first time each one appears keeps the viewer from getting lost.
Spoiler warning
A clear card before the ending, with its own chapter, so each viewer chooses how far to watch.
Closest real examples of my work
Two videos I edited: one made of movie images and one driven by the voice, the two halves of a recap.
These are not movie recaps, but the closest work I’ve edited. Views from the YouTube Data API on Oct 13, 2026; links open the video on YouTube.

Why it's close: A spy-history episode built from a script and a voiceover: archive, maps and text cards for a story that mostly happened in secret.

FAQ
Have you edited movie recaps before?
No, I haven’t edited movie recaps for a client yet. My narrated documentary work is The Spy Show, a spy-history series by Vincent Meijer that I edit, and the documentary on the Tenerife air disaster I delivered for The Interpreter, both on my YT Jobs profile. The free 1-minute test edit on your own script and voiceover is how you judge my cut before paying anything.
Can you edit my movie recaps?
Yes. Send your script, the voiceover and any images you already have, and I edit one minute for free. I find the rest of the visuals (archive, licensed stock, maps, timelines, text cards) and cut Shorts from the long video if you want them.
Will my video get a copyright claim?
It can happen: studios use Content ID. I’m not a lawyer and I can’t promise anything; what I do is edit with short, transformed clips, let your voice and your analysis carry the video and flag the stretches with the most risk.
Do you edit recaps of whole series?
Yes. Videos over 35 minutes get a custom quote; I would split them by season or by arc, with YouTube chapters.
How much does a YouTube editor for movie recaps cost?
My price is $55–$150 per finished video depending on complexity; up to $300 for some long or complex edits. By finished length: up to 10 minutes $55, up to 20 minutes $150, up to 35 minutes $300; longer videos get a custom quote. No contract and no minimum.
