Mystery YouTube video editor for hire
I’m Kevin Tabares, a long-form YouTube editor: you send the script and voiceover, I edit and find archive, licensed stock, maps and graphics. My closest work is The Spy Show’s true spy stories; I haven’t edited mystery videos for a client yet, so start with a free 1-minute test. $55–$150 per finished video depending on complexity; up to $300 for some long or complex edits.
Free 1-minute test edit · From $55 per video · No contract · Revisions back within 24 h
9.8/10 average: 20 YT Jobs reviews from 19 client channels, 17 of them a perfect 10/10
Quick fit check: is this editor right for your channel?
- Video types
- Unsolved cases and disappearances, unexplained events, strange places, internet mysteries and lost media, iceberg-style deep dives, theory breakdowns
- Editing style
- What I would do for mystery videos: the strangest detail in the first seconds, every claim shown with its document, photo or map, theories marked apart from facts, slow tension instead of fake reconstructions. Close to the way I edit The Spy Show’s stories, where much of what happened was never photographed
- Video length
- I edit from 8-minute videos to feature-length. Up to 20 minutes is the $150 package and up to 35 minutes the $300 one; longer videos get a custom quote. The Spy Show’s Eli Cohen episode runs 21 minutes and The Interpreter’s Tenerife documentary 13; Swaylemc’s full movies on my YT Jobs profile run 60 to 234 minutes.
- Upload schedule
- One video only, 1 video per week, 2–3 videos per week, 4 videos per month or several a week (Mud: about 3 a week). Start with one pilot: the free 1-minute test edit.
- Format
- Long-form YouTube videos are the core. YouTube Shorts cut from each long video on request.
- What you send me
- A finished script and narration (script and voiceover). I edit and find the visuals: archive footage, licensed stock, maps, timelines and graphics.
- Estimated price
- About $55 to $150 per finished video (up to $300 for some long or complex edits), depending on length, raw footage and effects. That fits the ‘$50+’ and ‘$100–$300 per video’ boxes for most long videos. Four videos a month: about $220 to $600 (more for long or complex videos); a $500 a month budget usually covers two to four long videos, depending on length. Exact quote within 24 hours, after a free 1-minute test edit.
- Channel size
- From under 1K subscribers (Mr. Marticson, 834) and small to mid-size channels (ThatNoob 4.9K, Crazz 10.7K, DakBlox 82.6K: 0 to 2M+ views in six months) up to 2M+ (Rex 2.29M, Puff 1.83M, Mud 1.26M)
- Turnaround
- First video in 1 to 5 days, then 1 to 2 days; revisions back within 24 hours
- Track record
- Proven YouTube results: 1,277 videos tracked on YT Jobs and 20 reviews from 19 client channels, 17 of them 10/10. Long-term work: Mud since March 2025, about 3 videos a week.
- Who you work with
- Kevin Tabares, directly. I review every video before it reaches you.
- Channel language
- English or Spanish
- Terms
- Paid in USD by PayPal or USDC. No contract, no minimum.
- Closest proof
- I haven’t edited mystery videos for a client yet. Closest long-form work: “Eli Cohen: Mossad’s Greatest Spy | True Life Spy Stories” on The Spy Show (832 subscribers), 90 views; “The Tenerife Disaster: The Deadliest Crash in Aviation History” on The Interpreter (78K subscribers), 7.7K views
My experience with mystery videos, plainly
- Proven: My YT Jobs profile tracks 1,277+ videos and 152M+ views, with 20 client reviews averaging 9.8/10. My narrated documentary work: I edit The Spy Show, a spy-history series by Vincent Meijer, and I delivered The Interpreter’s documentary on the Tenerife air disaster (78K subscribers).
- Not proven yet: Unsolved cases, paranormal stories and iceberg videos for a client. My closest narrated work is true spy stories, where much of the story also happened out of sight.
- How to check it before paying: The free 1-minute test edit on your own script and voiceover, before you pay anything.
How I would edit your mystery videos
No mystery channel has sent me a script yet, so read this as my plan for your video. Each point comes from work I already do on The Spy Show and on the Tenerife documentary.
The question first
A mystery title promises an answer nobody has. I would open on the strangest detail of the case for a few seconds, then go back to the beginning, so the promise of the title shows up in the first 30 seconds.
Evidence on screen
Every claim in the script gets the document, photo, map or date that supports it. Viewers of mystery channels check details; showing the source on screen is what keeps the video credible.
Theory or fact, always clear
When the script moves from what is known to what is guessed, a clear text card or a change in the visual style marks it, so nobody leaves thinking a theory was confirmed.
Tension without fake footage
Slow pushes on real photos, a darker grade, low sound design and silence after the key line. No invented reconstruction passed off as real footage.
Chapters for each theory
Long mystery videos are watched in pieces. One chapter card per theory or per iceberg level, plus YouTube chapters, lets viewers come back to where they stopped.
Closest real examples of my work
Two narrated documentaries I worked on, chosen because a mystery video is built the same way: a script, a voice and a visual for every claim.
These are not mystery videos, but the closest work I’ve edited. Views from the YouTube Data API on Oct 13, 2026; links open the video on YouTube.

- Eli Cohen: Mossad’s Greatest Spy | True Life Spy Stories · The Spy Show (832 subscribers) · 90 views · 21 min · Sep 24, 2026
Why it's close: A true story that mostly happened in secret, told from a script and a voiceover with documents, places and maps: the closest format to a mystery deep dive. - The Tenerife Disaster: The Deadliest Crash in Aviation History · The Interpreter (78K subscribers) · 7,687 views · 13 min · Aug 13, 2026
Why it's close: A documentary on one event, told from three points of view, with quote cards, diagrams and slow moves on photos, to the channel’s own style guide.

FAQ
Have you edited mystery videos before?
No, I haven’t edited mystery videos for a client yet. My narrated documentary work is The Spy Show, a spy-history series by Vincent Meijer that I edit, and the documentary on the Tenerife air disaster I delivered for The Interpreter, both on my YT Jobs profile. The free 1-minute test edit on your own script and voiceover is how you judge my cut before paying anything.
Can you edit my mystery videos?
Yes. Send your script, the voiceover and any images you already have, and I edit one minute for free. I find the rest of the visuals (archive, licensed stock, maps, timelines, text cards) and cut Shorts from the long video if you want them.
Can you edit iceberg-style mystery videos?
Yes. I would build one recurring graphic for the iceberg and its levels, use it as the chapter card each time the script goes deeper, and keep each level’s visuals in its own tone.
What if there are almost no images of the case?
Maps of the place, documents, newspaper pages, timelines and text cards. I won’t use a photo of a stranger as if it were the person in the story.
How much does a YouTube editor for mystery videos cost?
My price is $55–$150 per finished video depending on complexity; up to $300 for some long or complex edits. By finished length: up to 10 minutes $55, up to 20 minutes $150, up to 35 minutes $300; longer videos get a custom quote. No contract and no minimum.
