- Video types
- Animal behavior and “the most dangerous” animals, a species from birth to old age, oceans, deep sea and extreme places, ecosystems explained, prehistoric animals
- Editing style
- What I would do in a nature documentary: the exact species the voice names, long shots that give the animal time, natural sound under the music, simple range maps and a calmer pace than a history video. With the method of my narrated documentaries
- Video length
- I edit from 8-minute videos to feature-length. Up to 20 minutes is the $150 package and up to 35 minutes the $300 one; longer videos get a custom quote. The Spy Show’s Eli Cohen episode runs 21 minutes and The Interpreter’s Tenerife documentary 13; Swaylemc’s full movies on my YT Jobs profile run 60 to 234 minutes.
- Upload schedule
- One video only, 1 video per week, 2–3 videos per week, 4 videos per month or several a week (Mud: about 3 a week). Start with one pilot: the free 1-minute test edit.
- Format
- Long-form YouTube videos are the core. YouTube Shorts cut from each long video on request.
- What you send me
- A finished script and narration (script and voiceover). I edit and find the visuals: archive footage, licensed stock, maps, timelines and graphics.

That fits the ‘$50+’ and ‘$100–$300 per video’ boxes for most long videos. Four videos a month: about $220 to $600 (more for long or complex videos); a $500 a month budget usually covers two to four long videos, depending on length. Exact quote within 24 hours, after a free 1-minute test edit.
- Channel size
- From under 1K subscribers (Mr. Marticson, 834) and small to mid-size channels (ThatNoob 4.9K, Crazz 10.7K, DakBlox 82.6K: 0 to 2M+ views in six months) up to 2M+ (Rex 2.29M, Puff 1.83M, Mud 1.26M)

My experience with nature and animal documentaries, plainly
- Proven: My YT Jobs profile tracks 1,277+ videos and 152M+ views, with 20 client reviews averaging 9.8/10. My narrated documentary work: I edit The Spy Show, a spy-history series by Vincent Meijer, and I delivered The Interpreter’s documentary on the Tenerife air disaster (78K subscribers).
- Not proven yet: Nature documentaries for a client, and footage you shot yourself in the field. My documentary work is spy history and one air disaster.

How I would edit your nature documentaries
I haven’t edited a nature channel yet, so this is my plan for your script, with the method of the narrated documentaries I already edit.
The exact species
If the voice names a species, that species is on screen, not a lookalike. Nature viewers notice. I check every licensed clip against the name in the script before it goes in.
Shots that give the animal time
Wildlife footage works when it lasts: a hunt, a flight or a nest needs a few seconds to read. I would cut less often than in a history video and let the best shots run.
Natural sound under the music
The sound of water, wind and the animal itself, kept under the music and under your voice, makes stock footage feel like one film instead of a collage.
Simple maps of where they live
A range map with one color, in the same style every time, when the script says where a species lives or how it migrates.
Licenses for every clip
Stock sites license wildlife footage with terms. I keep track of where each clip comes from, so your channel can answer a claim.
Closest real examples of my work
Two narrated documentaries I worked on: the method is the one a nature documentary needs, even if the subject is different.
These are not nature and animal documentaries, but the closest work I’ve edited. Views from the YouTube Data API on Oct 13, 2026; links open the video on YouTube.

- Eli Cohen: Mossad’s Greatest Spy | True Life Spy Stories · The Spy Show (832 subscribers) · 90 views · 21 min · Sep 24, 2026
Why it's close: A narrated documentary built from a script and a voiceover with licensed and archive images: the method I would use for a nature story. - The Tenerife Disaster: The Deadliest Crash in Aviation History · The Interpreter (78K subscribers) · 7,687 views · 13 min · Aug 13, 2026
Why it's close: A documentary on one event, told from three points of view, with quote cards, diagrams and slow moves on photos, to the channel’s own style guide.

FAQ
Have you edited nature and animal documentaries before?
No, I haven’t edited nature and animal documentaries for a client yet. My narrated documentary work is The Spy Show, a spy-history series by Vincent Meijer that I edit, and the documentary on the Tenerife air disaster I delivered for The Interpreter, both on my YT Jobs profile. The free 1-minute test edit on your own script and voiceover is how you judge my cut before paying anything.
Can you edit my nature and animal documentaries?
Yes. Send your script, the voiceover and any images you already have, and I edit one minute for free. I find the rest of the visuals (archive, licensed stock, maps, timelines, text cards) and cut Shorts from the long video if you want them.
Where does the wildlife footage come from?
From licensed stock libraries and from footage you already own or license. For some species there is little licensed footage, so the stock budget is worth talking about first.
Can you make prehistoric animals or deep sea videos?
Yes, with what exists: fossils, museum reconstructions, diagrams, scale comparisons and licensed renders. I would not pass an illustration off as real footage.
How much does a YouTube editor for nature and animal documentaries cost?
My price is $55–$150 per finished video depending on complexity; up to $300 for some long or complex edits. By finished length: up to 10 minutes $55, up to 20 minutes $150, up to 35 minutes $300; longer videos get a custom quote. No contract and no minimum.
