YouTube channel management
End-to-end growth partner. Editing (2–3 videos/mo), strategy, uploads, thumbnails, analytics, A/B testing. We manage the production and optimization so you can focus on creating and business. Used by Mud (1M subs) and verified creators. $2.5K–3.5K/mo. 3-month minimum.
Most creators wear too many hats. You create and shoot the content, you manage the business, you try to stay engaged with the community — and you also try to edit, design thumbnails, manage uploads, and analyze performance. Something breaks. Usually it's the editing, so you either hire an editor and brief them every other week, or you stop editing and growth flatlines.
Channel management is different. We don't just edit your videos. We own the growth of your channel: strategy, production, optimization, and measurement. You focus on creating great raw footage. We handle the rest.
What channel management includes
- Video editing (2–3 per month) — full long-form editing, color, sound design, graphics. Retention-first optimization against your audience's data. 48h turnaround.
- Channel strategy — monthly planning calls where we discuss: content pillars, hook strategies for next month, competitive analysis, growth targets, A/B testing plans. We align on direction before you shoot.
- Upload management — titles, descriptions, tags, playlists, featured content, end-screens, community tabs. We optimize for YouTube search and recommendations, not just publish and hope.
- Thumbnail design — custom designs for all 2–3 monthly videos, aligned to your brand and video content. Included in the retainer.
- Post-publish analytics — within 24 hours of each upload, we pull retention data, compare to your average, and identify what worked and what didn't. Strategic notes for the next upload.
- Hook A/B testing — every other month, we design and test 2 hook variations on live uploads to identify which resonates strongest with your audience. Data-driven iteration.
- Monthly growth report — subscriber growth, watch-time trends, average views per video, retention improvements, and projections for the next 3 months. Are you on pace for your goals?
- Strategic adjustments — if growth is plateauing, we diagnose why (retention problem? content mix problem? metadata problem?) and recommend changes to the strategy for next month.
Real example: Mud's growth acceleration. When Mud moved to full channel management (vs. per-video editing), we went from 2–3 uploads per week to a consistent strategy: 2 Rivals news videos + 1 gameplay video per week. We ran retention audits between uploads. Within 6 months, his average views per video went from 45K to 100K+. Not because we made him a better creator — his raw content was already good. Because we eliminated the gap between content quality and production quality, and we tested every variable (hooks, pacing, audio, thumbnails) systematically instead of guessing. Growth compounded.
How channel management works
Month 1: Baseline and strategy
We audit your last 20–30 videos, identify your top and bottom performers, and benchmark your channel against competitors. Based on findings, we develop a 3-month content and editing strategy: what content mix works best for your audience, what hooks to focus on, what to test.
Month 2–3: Execution and iteration
You shoot content. We edit it within 48 hours. We upload with optimized metadata. We monitor retention after publish and A/B test hooks. Every upload teaches us something about your audience. We iterate on strategy each week based on data.
Month 3+: Scaled optimization
By month 3, we have data on what works for your niche and audience. Content strategy becomes more prescriptive: "this hook style drives retention in your audience"; "this pacing rhythm holds older viewers longer"; "this color palette increases CTR." Growth compounds because we're no longer experimenting — we're optimizing against known patterns.
Who benefits from channel management
- Creators at 100K–500K subs serious about scaling to 1M+ — you need systematic growth, not per-video luck. Channel management compounds it.
- Busy creators who produce great content but lack operations skills — you're brilliant on camera but drowning in post-production admin. We handle it.
- Teams where the creator wants to focus on creation only — your time is worth $500/hour on creative. It's not worth $500/hour on editing and metadata. We take the non-creative work off your plate.
- Creators wanting to scale upload cadence — you're at 2 videos/week and want to go to 4–5. Channel management lets you scale without sacrificing quality.
- Channels hitting growth plateau — you grew fast initially, now you're stuck. You need systematic optimization, not another editor. Channel management diagnoses and fixes the bottleneck.
Channel management pricing and packages
- Standard (2 videos/mo): $2.5K/mo. Full editing, strategy, uploads, thumbnails, analytics, A/B testing.
- Plus (3 videos/mo): $3.2K/mo. Same services + one additional strategy adjustment per month + advanced analytics dashboard.
- Premium (4–5 videos/mo): $3.5K–4.2K/mo. Custom quote. Full production management, enhanced A/B testing, weekly strategy calls.
Commitment: 3 months minimum. Most clients renew month-to-month after the initial commitment, as results compound. If you leave within 3 months, you keep all analytics reports and strategic recommendations.
What you don't get with channel management
To be clear about scope: we manage YouTube growth. We don't manage:
- Social media (TikTok, Instagram, Twitter) — that's separate and handled by social team.
- Community management (Discord, comments) — that requires your voice, not a proxy. We can advise on strategy.
- Sponsorships and brand deals — that's business development, outside our scope.
- Shorts and vertical content — we focus on long-form YouTube only.
YouTube growth only. Everything else is yours to own or delegate separately.
How to get started with channel management
- Email kevin@umbrellacreators.com with your channel link and your growth goal for the next 12 months (specific: "grow from 200K to 500K subs", not vague: "grow bigger").
- We pull your last 20 videos and send back a preliminary diagnostic within 24 hours: what's working, what's the bottleneck, what should we focus on.
- 30-minute discovery call to align on strategy and make sure the fit is right.
- If it's a good fit, sign 3-month agreement. Month 1 kicks off with a full channel audit and strategy session. Month 2 begins production.
Channel management FAQ
What if my upload cadence changes mid-contract?
We adjust. If you go from 2 to 3 videos per month, we upgrade the package and adjust the retainer accordingly. If you go from 3 to 2, we adjust downward. Flexible.
What happens if I want to leave after 3 months?
You can leave. You keep all audit reports, strategic recommendations, and analytics data. No clawback. We hope the results speak for themselves and you renew, but we understand that needs change.
Do you have access to my YouTube account?
We request editor-level access to your channel for uploads and metadata management. You can revoke access anytime. Some creators prefer we draft recommendations and they execute themselves — that's fine, but it slows down the workflow.
How often do we talk?
Strategy planning calls monthly (30–60 min). Async communication via email/Slack for briefs, revisions, and feedback. No daily check-ins unless you request them.
What if I want to change strategies mid-month?
We can, but big strategy changes mid-month are tricky (you've probably already shot content for the old plan). We recommend strategic adjustments happen on monthly planning calls, so you can shoot for the new plan after.
