Affordable YouTube video editor for a small channel: who takes small channels, and for how much?
Kevin Tabares takes small channels and starts with one video. His price is $55–$150 per finished video depending on complexity; up to $300 for some long or complex edits, and a video up to 10 minutes is $55. No contract or minimum, a free 1-minute test edit first, and the first video back in 1–5 days, then usually 1–2.
What affordable looks like in 2026 (prices read October 15, 2026)
Low prices often cover very different lengths, so the column that matters is how much finished video the price buys. Each price is what the source published when I read it on October 15, 2026.
| Option | Published price | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Fiverr (marketplace freelancer) | 11 long-form YouTube gigs with 70+ reviews: basic packages from $15 to $315, median $50 | 1 to 15 minutes of video (median 3); bigger packages are not shown in the search |
| Upwork (marketplace freelancer) | $6–$25 an hour for video editors in general (cost page); $100–$500 per project for a basic YouTube edit (hiring guide) | A single 10–15 minute video, for the per-project range |
| Editvideo.io (editing service) | $295 a month for 4 videos, about $73.75 each (my division) | Raw footage up to 45 minutes per video |
| Video Husky (editing service) | Basic video: 2 credits at $40.50–$45, so $81–$90 (my multiplication) | Up to 20 minutes |
| Pricing guides | Veedyou: $10–$40 per video for beginner editors, $40 to $150 intermediate. The Creator's Assistant: $50–$150 per video for mid-tier freelancers | Per video, length not fixed |
| Kevin Tabares (hired directly) | $55 up to 10 minutes, $150 up to 20, $300 up to 35 | Free 1-minute test edit first; no minimum, no contract |
Whatever the price, judge every option on the same one to two minutes of your footage: the first 20 seconds, the pacing and the audio. A test edit tells you more than a price list.
How to keep the edit affordable
- Keep the finished video at the length the idea needs. My prices go by finished minutes: up to 10 minutes is $55, up to 20 is $150.
- Send footage with the dead time already out if you can. Selection time grows with the raw material.
- Set up your look once. Fonts, intro, lower thirds and music in the first video, reused after that.
- Keep the title and thumbnail yourself while the channel is small. That is where your taste lives.
- Start with one video, watch it on your phone, then decide on a rhythm.
Small channels I've edited
The channels I've edited go from under 1K subscribers (Mr. Marticson, 834) and small to mid-size channels (ThatNoob 4.9K, Crazz 10.7K, DakBlox 82.6K: 0 to 2M+ views in six months) up to 2M+ (Rex & Alexa 2.29M, Puff 1.83M, Mud 1.26M). A small channel gets the same edit as a big one.
A video from a small channel can still travel: the 99 Nights video I edited for Crazz, at about 10.7K subscribers, passed 820,000 views (YouTube Data API, October 13, 2026). One video, not a promise. Crazz's review on YT Jobs: "their turnaround time is pretty fast and the projects are delivered on schedule".
The full record: 1,277 videos and 152.2M+ views tracked on YT Jobs, and 20 YT Jobs reviews from 19 client channels, 17 of them a perfect 10/10 (9.8/10 average).
How to start
- Send your channel link and one to two minutes of raw footage from a normal video.
- You get a free 1-minute test edit on that footage and an exact quote within 24 hours. No contract and no minimum.
- Book one video ($55 if the finished video is up to 10 minutes): 50% or 100% up front by PayPal or USDC, invoices in USD. The first video comes back in 1 to 5 days; after that, usually 1 to 2.
- Send your notes. Revisions until you're happy, each one back within 24 hours. If after two revision rounds the edit still isn't right, you don't pay the second invoice.
Quick answers
Can I hire a YouTube editor for under $100 per video?
Yes. My price for a finished video up to 10 minutes is $55. On October 15, 2026, Fiverr's long-form YouTube gigs with 70+ reviews started at $15 to $315 for packages of 1 to 15 minutes, and Editvideo.io's 4-video plan worked out to about $73.75 a video.
Will an editor take a channel with under 1,000 subscribers?
I do. The channels I've edited start under 1K subscribers (Mr. Marticson, 834) and go up to Rex & Alexa (2.29M). There is no minimum: one video is enough to start.
Is an editor worth it for a small channel?
It is if the edit gives you back the hours to upload on a steady rhythm. Start with one video and compare the time you got back with the price. The guide for channels under 10K subscribers goes deeper.
Do I have to commit to a monthly plan?
No. No contract and no minimum: each video is booked on its own with 50% or 100% up front, paid by PayPal or USDC and invoiced in USD.
What if I don't like the edit?
You get revisions until you're happy, each back within 24 hours. If after two revision rounds the edit still isn't right, you don't pay the second invoice.
