Ancient history YouTube video editor for hire
I’m Kevin Tabares, a long-form YouTube editor. For ancient history I would build your script and voiceover with statues, ruins, coins and maps of empires, every date marked BC or AD. I haven’t edited ancient history videos for a client yet; my closest work is The Spy Show, a narrated spy-history series I edit. $55–$150 per finished video depending on complexity; up to $300 for some long or complex edits.
Free 1-minute test edit · From $55 per video · No contract · Revisions back within 24 h
9.8/10 average: 20 YT Jobs reviews from 19 client channels, 17 of them a perfect 10/10
Quick fit check: is this editor right for your channel?
- Video types
- Rome, Greece and Egypt, ancient empires and battles, daily life centuries ago, emperors and pharaohs, myth against history, archaeology and ruins, the fall of a civilization
- Editing style
- What I would do for ancient history: maps that show an empire growing and shrinking, statues, ruins and paintings where no images of the time exist, BC and AD dates clear on screen, and quotes from ancient sources
- Video length
- I edit from 8-minute videos to feature-length. Up to 20 minutes is the $150 package and up to 35 minutes the $300 one; longer videos get a custom quote. The Spy Show episodes shown here run 21 and 13 minutes; Swaylemc’s full movies on my YT Jobs profile run 60 to 234 minutes.
- Upload schedule
- One video only, 1 video per week, 2–3 videos per week, 4 videos per month or several a week (Mud: about 3 a week). Start with one pilot: the free 1-minute test edit.
- Format
- Long-form YouTube videos are the core. YouTube Shorts cut from each long video on request.
- What you send me
- A finished script and narration (script and voiceover). I edit and find the visuals: archive footage, licensed stock, maps, timelines and graphics.
- Estimated price
- About $55 to $150 per finished video (up to $300 for some long or complex edits), depending on length, raw footage and effects. That fits the ‘$50+’ and ‘$100–$300 per video’ boxes for most long videos. Four videos a month: about $220 to $600 (more for long or complex videos); a $500 a month budget usually covers two to four long videos, depending on length. Exact quote within 24 hours, after a free 1-minute test edit.
- Channel size
- From under 1K subscribers (Mr. Marticson, 834) and small to mid-size channels (ThatNoob 4.9K, Crazz 10.7K, DakBlox 82.6K: 0 to 2M+ views in six months) up to 2M+ (Rex 2.29M, Puff 1.83M, Mud 1.26M)
- Turnaround
- First video in 1 to 5 days, then 1 to 2 days; revisions back within 24 hours
- Track record
- Proven YouTube results: 1,277 videos tracked on YT Jobs and 20 reviews from 19 client channels, 17 of them 10/10. Long-term work: Mud since March 2025, about 3 videos a week.
- Who you work with
- Kevin Tabares, directly. I review every video before it reaches you.
- Channel language
- English or Spanish
- Terms
- Paid in USD by PayPal or USDC. No contract, no minimum.
- Closest proof
- I haven’t edited ancient history videos for a client yet. Closest long-form work: “Eli Cohen: Mossad’s Greatest Spy | True Life Spy Stories” on The Spy Show (832 subscribers), 90 views; “Imad Mughniyeh: how CIA & Mossad hunted a Hezbollah leader | Real Life Spy Stories” on The Spy Show (832 subscribers), 99 views
My experience with ancient history videos, plainly
- Proven: I edit The Spy Show, Vincent Meijer’s narrated spy-history series, to written rules an ancient history channel needs too: every image true to its period, real documents with their real dates and animated maps for journeys. I also delivered The Interpreter’s documentary on the Tenerife air disaster.
- Not proven yet: Ancient history for a client, and 3D reconstructions of ancient cities: my work with maps and archive comes from narrated documentaries.
- How to check it before paying: Send one minute of your script and voiceover, ideally a passage with a battle or a map, and judge my free test edit before you pay anything.
How I would edit your ancient history videos
I haven’t edited an ancient history channel yet, so this is my plan for your script, using the period rules I follow on The Spy Show.
There are no photos of Rome
The ancient world has no photos or film: I use statues, coins, ruins, mosaics and later paintings, and a card says so when an image is a recreation from another age.
One empire, one map
The same map for the whole video, with borders that grow or shrink with the dates, so the viewer always knows where they are.
BC dates, always clear
Every jump in time gets its date on screen, with BC or AD always written, so nobody gets lost between centuries.
Sources, quoted
When the script quotes an ancient author, the quote appears written with the author’s name and the work.
Rulers with a face
Each emperor or pharaoh gets a bust or a portrait the first time they appear, and the same one for the rest of the video.
Closest real examples of my work
Two episodes of The Spy Show, the narrated history series I edit. They are not ancient history, but they follow the period rules an ancient history video needs.
These are not ancient history videos, but the closest work I’ve edited. Views from the YouTube Data API on Oct 13, 2026; links open the video on YouTube.

- Eli Cohen: Mossad’s Greatest Spy | True Life Spy Stories · The Spy Show (832 subscribers) · 90 views · 21 min · Sep 24, 2026
Why it's close: A Spy Show episode, 21 minutes, the true life story of one spy. The series’ rule when real photos run out, cut to a period detail instead of repeating the face, is the one a ruler with a handful of surviving busts needs. - Imad Mughniyeh: how CIA & Mossad hunted a Hezbollah leader | Real Life Spy Stories · The Spy Show (832 subscribers) · 99 views · 13 min · Sep 27, 2026
Why it's close: Another Spy Show episode, 13 minutes, edited to the series’ period rule: no object and no flag from the wrong era on screen. In ancient history that means no armor or building from the wrong century.

FAQ
Have you edited ancient history videos before?
No, I haven’t edited ancient history videos for a client yet. The closest is The Spy Show, the narrated spy-history series I edit, where every image has to fit its period, and The Interpreter’s Tenerife documentary, which I delivered; both are on my YT Jobs profile. Send a minute of your script and voiceover and judge my free test edit before paying anything.
Can you edit my ancient history videos?
Yes. Send the script, the voiceover and any maps or images you already have, and I edit one minute for free. I find the statues, ruins, coins and period paintings, build the maps and, if you want them, cut Shorts from the long video.
Do you use AI images?
Only if you ask for them and your channel uses them. By default I work with statues, ruins, paintings and illustrations that have a clear license.
Can you edit a long series on Rome or Egypt?
Yes. After the first episode the opening, the cards and the map style are reused, so each episode is quicker.
How much does a YouTube editor for ancient history videos cost?
