Geography and map YouTube video editor for hire
I’m Kevin Tabares, a long-form YouTube editor: you send the script and voiceover, I edit and find archive, licensed stock, maps and graphics. My closest work is the maps in The Spy Show’s documentaries; I haven’t edited geography videos for a client yet, so start with a free 1-minute test. $55–$150 per finished video depending on complexity; up to $300 for some long or complex edits.
Free 1-minute test edit · From $55 per video · No contract · Revisions back within 24 h
9.8/10 average: 20 YT Jobs reviews from 19 client channels, 17 of them a perfect 10/10
Quick fit check: is this editor right for your channel?
- Video types
- Why a country or a city is where it is, borders and how they changed, maps that explain history, strange places and enclaves, rivers, mountains and climate, population and scale comparisons
- Editing style
- What I would do in a geography video: one map style for the whole channel, zooms that start from a place the viewer knows, borders that move with the years, and the real place on screen whenever the voice names it. Close to the maps I build for The Spy Show
- Video length
- I edit from 8-minute videos to feature-length. Up to 20 minutes is the $150 package and up to 35 minutes the $300 one; longer videos get a custom quote. The Spy Show’s Eli Cohen episode runs 21 minutes and The Interpreter’s Tenerife documentary 13; Swaylemc’s full movies on my YT Jobs profile run 60 to 234 minutes.
- Upload schedule
- One video only, 1 video per week, 2–3 videos per week, 4 videos per month or several a week (Mud: about 3 a week). Start with one pilot: the free 1-minute test edit.
- Format
- Long-form YouTube videos are the core. YouTube Shorts cut from each long video on request.
- What you send me
- A finished script and narration (script and voiceover). I edit and find the visuals: archive footage, licensed stock, maps, timelines and graphics.
- Estimated price
- About $55 to $150 per finished video (up to $300 for some long or complex edits), depending on length, raw footage and effects. That fits the ‘$50+’ and ‘$100–$300 per video’ boxes for most long videos. Four videos a month: about $220 to $600 (more for long or complex videos); a $500 a month budget usually covers two to four long videos, depending on length. Exact quote within 24 hours, after a free 1-minute test edit.
- Channel size
- From under 1K subscribers (Mr. Marticson, 834) and small to mid-size channels (ThatNoob 4.9K, Crazz 10.7K, DakBlox 82.6K: 0 to 2M+ views in six months) up to 2M+ (Rex 2.29M, Puff 1.83M, Mud 1.26M)
- Turnaround
- First video in 1 to 5 days, then 1 to 2 days; revisions back within 24 hours
- Track record
- Proven YouTube results: 1,277 videos tracked on YT Jobs and 20 reviews from 19 client channels, 17 of them 10/10. Long-term work: Mud since March 2025, about 3 videos a week.
- Who you work with
- Kevin Tabares, directly. I review every video before it reaches you.
- Channel language
- English or Spanish
- Terms
- Paid in USD by PayPal or USDC. No contract, no minimum.
- Closest proof
- I haven’t edited geography videos for a client yet. Closest long-form work: “Eli Cohen: Mossad’s Greatest Spy | True Life Spy Stories” on The Spy Show (832 subscribers), 90 views; “The Tenerife Disaster: The Deadliest Crash in Aviation History” on The Interpreter (78K subscribers), 7.7K views
My experience with geography videos, plainly
- Proven: My YT Jobs profile tracks 1,277+ videos and 152M+ views, with 20 client reviews averaging 9.8/10. My narrated documentary work: I edit The Spy Show, a spy-history series by Vincent Meijer, and I delivered The Interpreter’s documentary on the Tenerife air disaster (78K subscribers).
- Not proven yet: Geography videos for a client, and 3D globe or terrain animation. My map work so far is the locator and route maps of narrated documentaries.
- How to check it before paying: The free 1-minute test edit on your own script and voiceover, before you pay anything.
How I would edit your geography videos
I haven’t edited a geography channel yet, so this is my plan for your script, built on the maps of The Spy Show and the diagrams of the Tenerife documentary.
One map style for the whole channel
The same colors, fonts and line weights in every video, so a viewer recognises your map before reading the title. I would set it in the first video and keep it.
Start from a place the viewer knows
A zoom from a known coastline or city down to the place in the story gives the viewer a sense of where and how big, in a few seconds.
Borders that move with the years
When the script jumps in time, the border changes on the same map with the year on a card, instead of cutting to a new map each time.
The real place when it is named
A map explains, but footage or a photo of the real river, city or mountain makes it stick. I look for licensed footage of the exact place, not a lookalike.
Map data with its credit
Map data and satellite imagery come with licenses and credit lines. I keep track of where each layer comes from and put the credit where the license asks for it.
Closest real examples of my work
Two narrated documentaries I worked on, chosen because a geography video is built the same way: a script, a voice and a map or a place for every line.
These are not geography videos, but the closest work I’ve edited. Views from the YouTube Data API on Oct 13, 2026; links open the video on YouTube.

- Eli Cohen: Mossad’s Greatest Spy | True Life Spy Stories · The Spy Show (832 subscribers) · 90 views · 21 min · Sep 24, 2026
Why it's close: A narrated documentary that moves between countries: locator maps and routes carry the story, as they would in a geography video. - The Tenerife Disaster: The Deadliest Crash in Aviation History · The Interpreter (78K subscribers) · 7,687 views · 13 min · Aug 13, 2026
Why it's close: A documentary on one event, told from three points of view, with quote cards, diagrams and slow moves on photos, to the channel’s own style guide.

FAQ
Have you edited geography videos before?
No, I haven’t edited geography videos for a client yet. My narrated documentary work is The Spy Show, a spy-history series by Vincent Meijer that I edit, and the documentary on the Tenerife air disaster I delivered for The Interpreter, both on my YT Jobs profile. The free 1-minute test edit on your own script and voiceover is how you judge my cut before paying anything.
Can you edit my geography videos?
Yes. Send your script, the voiceover and any images you already have, and I edit one minute for free. I find the rest of the visuals (archive, licensed stock, maps, timelines, text cards) and cut Shorts from the long video if you want them.
Do you animate the maps yourself?
Yes, in 2D: locator maps, routes, borders and highlights, in one style for your channel. Complex 3D globes and terrain flights are not in my portfolio yet; tell me if your format depends on them.
Can you compare sizes and populations?
Yes, with simple graphics: one shape over another for area, bars for population, with the data from your script.
How much does a YouTube editor for geography videos cost?
My price is $55–$150 per finished video depending on complexity; up to $300 for some long or complex edits. By finished length: up to 10 minutes $55, up to 20 minutes $150, up to 35 minutes $300; longer videos get a custom quote. No contract and no minimum.
