GTA 6 YouTube video ideas for 2026: what to post before and after November 19
GTA 6 comes out on November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, as a single-player game. Big GTA channels post long videos: the median of 51 recent GTA uploads is 29.5 minutes. Post breakdowns and reactions now, first hours and long playthroughs in launch week, and tests and challenges after.
What is confirmed about GTA 6 (as of October 13, 2026)
Only official pages, and press that quotes Rockstar or Take-Two. Map size, a PC date, an online mode and RP servers are not announced, so a video built on them ages badly.
Confirmed
- Release: November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S (Rockstar, Take-Two). PlayStation lists it as enhanced for PS5 Pro and not available on PS4 (PlayStation).
- Single-player: Rockstar describes a single-player experience, and PlayStation lists 1 player (Take-Two, PlayStation).
- Price and pre-load: $79.99, or $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition. Pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026, and the digital pre-load starts on November 12 (Take-Two).
- Setting and characters: the state of Leonida and Vice City, with Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos as the leads (Rockstar).
- PC: no PC version has been announced. In May 2026 Take-Two’s CEO said the game was announced for console only so far (Wccftech).
- GTA Online: the current GTA Online, the GTA V one, stays; Take-Two’s CEO said it will stay in market (Wccftech).
Not announced, so don’t build a video on it
- An online mode for GTA VI: not announced, nor its date or price.
- RP for GTA VI: not announced. In September 2025 Rockstar said it supports the NoPixel team as they create the future of GTA RP, but the post doesn’t name GTA VI (Insider Gaming). The RP series on YouTube today, like Sykkuno’s NoPixel 5.0 episodes, are played on GTA V.
- A PC version or a PC date: not announced.
- Map size and story length: not announced.
Why the launch is worth planning for
The official videos already pull audiences few games get. Trailer 1 set a Guinness record with 90,421,491 views in its first 24 hours (Guinness) and had 297,619,795 views on YouTube on October 13, 2026. Trailer 2 had 184,240,170. An Extended Look, the 27-minute video released on August 27, 2026, logged 31.1M views on Netflix in its first four days and was number one in 87 of 93 countries (Variety); on YouTube it had 31,254,261 views the same day.
Reaction streams of that video peaked at 3,970,738 concurrent viewers across 9,038 channels, with about 44% of hours watched on Twitch, 34.8% on YouTube and 20.2% on Kick, according to Streams Charts (Inven Global). That is a third-party estimate, not a Rockstar number.
The last launch is the best guide. YouTube Gaming counted 1.9 billion views for GTA V in its first 60 days, behind Elden Ring’s 3.4 billion and ahead of Red Dead Redemption 2’s 1.4 billion (Game Developer). GTA V passed $1 billion in sales in three days (Take-Two, 2013), and in 2025 it was still the second most-watched game on live streams, with 1.9 billion hours (Stream Hatchet).
My reading, not a fact: with numbers like these before release, the first weeks of GTA 6 on YouTube will be crowded. The useful question is not whether to make GTA 6 videos but which format you can still deliver well when everyone uploads at once.
How long GTA videos run on big channels
On October 13, 2026 I read the last 12 uploads of six big GTA channels: VanossGaming (26M subscribers), Jelly (23.3M), Typical Gamer (16.1M), GTA Series Videos (4.14M), Sykkuno (2.53M) and LordKebun (357K). Of those 72 videos, 51 are GTA.
- Median length: 29.5 minutes.
- Middle half: from 17 to 43 minutes.
- Longer than an hour: 9 of the 51. The longest is Typical Gamer’s “GTA 5 FULL MOVIE with Typical Gamer!” (15:02:01, 265K views).
My reading: on these channels the regular GTA upload is long-form, a video you edit from a long session. I read the Videos tab, which leaves Shorts out, so these numbers say nothing about how many Shorts the channels post.
Ideas for now, before November 19
1. Breakdown of the official footage
- Real example: GTA Series Videos, “GTA 6 Gameplay Analysis: New Details, Previews & Screenshots” (29:31, 136K views).
- Why now: three official videos are out and every frame gets studied; a breakdown is useful while there is nothing else to play.
- What the edit needs: short official clips, each followed by your commentary or a still with notes. Not a full re-upload: the same channel’s “GTA 6 Gameplay: An Extended Look” (26:49, 84K views) carries the name and almost exactly the length of Rockstar’s own video, so it is a re-upload, not a breakdown.
2. First-time reaction
- Real examples: Jelly, “GTA HATER Sees GTA 6 For The First Time” (22:46, 117K views) and LordKebun, “LordKebun REACTS TO GTA 6 EXTENDED LOOK” (40:00, 61K views).
- Why now: live reactions to An Extended Look drew the audience numbers above; an edited reaction is the version that lasts on YouTube.
- What the edit needs: the premise in the first seconds (who reacts and why it matters), the official video cut down to the moments that get a reaction, and your face or voice on screen most of the time. Playing the whole video with little commentary is the weak version.
3. Everything confirmed so far
- Real example: Jelly, “I Watched EVERY GTA 6 Video So You Don’t Have To” (44:11, 115K views).
- Why now: people search what is known before they buy; a recap that sticks to official sources still holds up on launch day.
- What the edit needs: only the confirmed facts above, each with the official clip or page on screen, and a closing section that says plainly what is not announced.
4. A farewell to GTA 5, or a replay
- Real examples: VanossGaming, “GTA5 - The LAST Grand Theft Auto 5 Session!” (18:33, 2.6M views), VanossGaming, “The Best of GTA5 - The Ultimate Farewell (to GTA5) Montage!” (3:19:55, 2.6M views) and Typical Gamer, “13 Years Later... I Finished GTA 5 Again” (3:23:06, 185K views).
- Why now: the two Vanoss farewell videos are the most-viewed GTA uploads in the sample. Saying goodbye to GTA 5 has become a topic of its own.
- What the edit needs: a montage is mostly logging and choosing the best moments from years of footage; a replay needs the same long-session edit as a GTA 6 playthrough, so it doubles as a rehearsal.
5. GTA 6, but in Roblox
- Real example: Jelly, “GTA 6 Is In ROBLOX” (20:58, 70K views).
- Why now: it uses the wait for GTA 6 with a game anyone can play today.
- What the edit needs: a challenge structure: the goal in the first seconds, checkpoints, and the payoff at the end.
Ideas for launch week and the story that follows
6. First hours, or Part 1 of a walkthrough
- Real example of the format: Typical Gamer, “Marvel's Wolverine PS5 Gameplay Walkthrough, Part 7! (Ending)” (1:44:41, 52K views).
- Why then: people already search for it; on October 13, 2026 YouTube’s search box suggested “gta 6 walkthrough part 1” and “gta 6 first mission”.
- What the edit needs: a clear start and end for each part, chapters per mission (how to add them) and spoiler-free titles. A PS5 recording stops at 1 hour (Sony), so a long session reaches the edit as several files.
7. The full movie
- Real example: Typical Gamer, “GTA 5 FULL MOVIE with Typical Gamer!” (15:02:01, 265K views).
- Why then: “gta 6 full movie” is another suggestion in the search box. Publish it once you finish the story; nobody knows how long the story is, so don’t promise a date.
- What the edit needs: cutscenes and mission highlights in story order, a chapter per mission, little or no commentary. It is the longest edit on this list.
Ideas for the first month
8. “I tested every way to…”
- Real example: Jelly, “I Tested EVERY Way To Escape 5-STAR Police in GTA 5” (18:15, 44K views).
- Why then: the game gives you the premise (police, vehicles, missions), so it works in a single-player game without mods.
- What the edit needs: one test per segment, a scoreboard on screen and the best result saved for the end.
9. Premise challenges
- Real examples: Jelly, “Every Time I Get Shot, I Grow BIGGER in GTA 5” (13:52, 90K views) and Jelly, “Jelly vs Kwebbelkop: NEW $5,000,000 GTA 5 SUPERCAR Challenge!” (18:45, 157K views).
- Why then: challenges like these often use mods or a second player. GTA 6 is announced only for consoles and as single-player, so at launch the rule has to come from you: a budget, a ban or a time limit.
- What the edit needs: the rule stated in the first seconds and kept on screen, and a clear win or fail at the end.
10. Mission help and things you missed
- Real example of the format: GTA Series Videos, “GTA Online All NEW Ghosts Locations [Halloween 2026 Collectibles Guide]” (8:44, 79K views).
- Why then: in Elden Ring’s first 60 days the most uploaded boss fight was Margit, according to YouTube Gaming, and much of the game’s YouTube presence was about understanding its classes (Game Developer). Players look for help with the exact thing they are stuck on.
- What the edit needs: the answer right away, the mission name in the title and chapters when there are several steps.
11. Group sessions and funny moments, still on GTA V
- Real examples: VanossGaming, “GTA5 - Okay, NOW It's the Final Game Session!” (38:03, 1.8M views) and LordKebun, “Among Us, BUT In GTA 5” (40:37, 43K views).
- The limit: these need other players. Rockstar describes GTA 6 as single-player and hasn’t announced an online mode for it, so this format stays on GTA V until that changes.
- What the edit needs: reactions from several players held on screen and cuts on the crash or the explosion, not after it.
12. RP stories and episodes, on GTA V
- Real examples: LordKebun, “Cops Didn't Expect THIS Getaway Vehicle” (15:59, 96K views) and Sykkuno, “My First Day as a TRUCK DRIVER was a DISASTER ► NoPixel 5.0 Ep. 1” (30:44, 28K views).
- The limit: RP for GTA 6 isn’t announced; the RP videos uploaded today are played on GTA V.
- What the edit needs: a story, not a session: setup, the job, the twist and the getaway, with character names on screen and a short recap if it is an episode. My reading of this small sample: self-contained stories like LordKebun’s do better than numbered episodes.
13. News Shorts
- Real example of a short news clip: GTA Series Videos, “GTA 6 Limited Edition DualSense Controllers for PS5” (0:31, 59K views).
- Why then: a small piece of news fits a Short, and a Short can send viewers to your long video. I read the channels’ Videos tab, not their Shorts, so I can’t say how often big GTA channels post them.
- What the edit needs: the news in the first second and one clip or image; a link to your long video in the description.
Week-by-week plan around the launch
| Dates | What to publish | Edit focus |
|---|---|---|
| Now to November 11 | Breakdowns and reactions of the three official videos, a confirmed-facts video, a GTA 5 farewell or replay. | Short official clips plus commentary; nothing graphic in the first 7 seconds (YouTube’s rule, explained). |
| November 12 to 18 (pre-load week) | A countdown or “what I’ll do first” video, a test recording of your setup, your thumbnail template. | Check recording limits and audio before launch day (setup). |
| November 19 to 22 (launch) | Part 1 or your first hours, published fast, and one Short cut from it. | Speed over polish, but a spoiler-free title and thumbnail and a chapter per mission (how). |
| November 23 to December 6 | Walkthrough parts, “I tested every way to…”, premise challenges, mission help. | One clear premise per video; each part ends on a hook. |
| December 7 to 20 | The full movie once the story is done, things you missed, your verdict. | The longest edits: plan the hours before you promise a date. |
| After that | What your channel does best, plus GTA Online and RP on GTA V while nothing is announced for GTA VI. | A weekly rhythm you can keep. |
The dates come from Rockstar’s release date and Take-Two’s pre-load date; how the weeks are split is my suggestion, not data.
