DIY and home improvement YouTube video editor
I’m Kevin Tabares, a long-form YouTube editor: you send your raw footage, I cut it and add music, text and Shorts. My closest work is Scarlett Mae’s Japan vlog and Erin Marie’s lessons to camera; I haven’t edited DIY and home improvement videos for a client yet, so start with a free 1-minute test. $55–$150 per finished video depending on complexity; up to $300 for some long or complex edits.
Free 1-minute test edit · From $55 per video · No contract · Revisions back within 24 h
9.8/10 average: 20 YT Jobs reviews from 19 client channels, 17 of them a perfect 10/10
Quick fit check: is this editor right for your channel?
- Video types
- Renovations and room makeovers, furniture builds, repairs and how-tos, woodworking projects, tool tests, before and after, house projects told as a series
- Editing style
- What I would do for DIY: every step in order with the tool and the measurement on screen, the long cuts and sanding sped up, the mistakes kept when they teach something, and the before and after at the end
- Video length
- I edit from 8-minute videos to feature-length. Up to 20 minutes is the $150 package and up to 35 minutes the $300 one; longer videos get a custom quote. Scarlett Mae’s Japan vlog runs 17 minutes and Alli Ingram’s episodes 7 to 17; Swaylemc’s full movies on my YT Jobs profile run 60 to 234 minutes.
- Upload schedule
- One video only, 1 video per week, 2–3 videos per week, 4 videos per month or several a week (Mud: about 3 a week). Start with one pilot: the free 1-minute test edit.
- Format
- Long-form YouTube videos are the core. YouTube Shorts cut from each long video on request.
- What you send me
- All your clips and audio from the shoot; I build the story.
- Estimated price
- About $55 to $150 per finished video (up to $300 for some long or complex edits), depending on length, raw footage and effects. That fits the ‘$50+’ and ‘$100–$300 per video’ boxes for most long videos. Four videos a month: about $220 to $600 (more for long or complex videos); a $500 a month budget usually covers two to four long videos, depending on length. Exact quote within 24 hours, after a free 1-minute test edit.
- Channel size
- From under 1K subscribers (Mr. Marticson, 834) and small to mid-size channels (ThatNoob 4.9K, Crazz 10.7K, DakBlox 82.6K: 0 to 2M+ views in six months) up to 2M+ (Rex 2.29M, Puff 1.83M, Mud 1.26M)
- Turnaround
- First video in 1 to 5 days, then 1 to 2 days; revisions back within 24 hours
- Track record
- Proven YouTube results: 1,277 videos tracked on YT Jobs and 20 reviews from 19 client channels, 17 of them 10/10. Long-term work: Mud since March 2025, about 3 videos a week.
- Who you work with
- Kevin Tabares, directly. I review every video before it reaches you.
- Channel language
- English or Spanish
- Terms
- Paid in USD by PayPal or USDC. No contract, no minimum.
- Closest proof
- I haven’t edited DIY and home improvement videos for a client yet. Closest filmed work: “I Became a GYARU ANGEL in Japan for 24 Hours” on Scarlett Mae (297K subscribers), 971.9K views; “Awkard 😳First Kiss Misses | First Kiss 💋 Summer Ep 101” on Alli Ingram (743K subscribers), 116.5K views
My experience with DIY and home improvement videos, plainly
- Proven: My YT Jobs profile tracks 1,277+ videos and 152M+ views, with 20 client reviews averaging 9.8/10. My work with filmed footage: lessons to camera that I edit for English by Erin Marie, Scarlett Mae’s 24-hour challenge vlog filmed in Japan (297K subscribers), which I edited, and Alli Ingram’s First Kiss Summer series (743K), which I edited too.
- Not proven yet: DIY videos for a client, and the technical side: I don’t check whether a method is safe or follows local rules, so safety notes on screen come from you.
- How to check it before paying: The free 1-minute test edit on your own footage, before you pay anything.
How I would edit your DIY videos
I haven’t edited a DIY channel yet, so this is my plan for your footage.
Every step, in order
The viewer has to be able to follow along: each step with a short title, and the tool and the measurement on screen when you say them.
Speed up the repetitive work
Sanding, a second coat of paint, twenty screws in a row: sped up with the sound kept low, so the video moves without skipping a step.
Keep the useful mistakes
A mistake you fix on camera is often the most useful minute. I keep it, with your explanation, instead of cutting it out.
Before and after
The same angle before and after, side by side or with a wipe, is the payoff of a makeover. Tell me where you filmed the before shot and I build the ending around it.
Sound you can stand
Saws and drills are loud next to your voice. I bring them down under your explanation and back up when the noise is the point.
Closest real examples of my work
Three videos I edited from recorded footage: a challenge vlog, an episode of a scripted series and a lesson to camera. Watch the first minute of the one closest to your format.
These are not DIY and home improvement videos, but they are the closest recorded work I’ve edited. Views from the YouTube Data API on Oct 13, 2026, or from my YT Jobs profile for the newest videos; links open the video on YouTube.

FAQ
Have you edited DIY and home improvement videos before?
No, I haven’t edited DIY and home improvement videos for a client yet. My closest work with recorded footage: Scarlett Mae’s 24-hour challenge vlog filmed in Japan and Alli Ingram’s First Kiss Summer series, both edited by me, and lessons to camera that I edit for English by Erin Marie, all on my YT Jobs profile. The free 1-minute test edit on your own footage is how you judge my cut before paying anything.
Can you edit my DIY and home improvement videos?
Yes. Send the raw footage of one video (all the clips, plus the separate audio if you recorded it) and one video whose style you like, and I edit one minute for free. I cut Shorts from the long video too if you want them.
Can you edit a long renovation into a series?
Yes. Each episode with the same opening and a recap of where the project stands, so the series is easy to follow from week to week.
What if I filmed with my phone?
That is fine. Send the clips as they are; I cut them, steady the shaky ones where I can and keep the ones that show the work clearly.
How much does a YouTube editor for DIY and home improvement videos cost?
