Your hiring form, answered

Type of video
Talking head to camera: lessons and tutorials, explainers, coaching and advice, commentary and other solo videos to camera. Proof in this format: English by Erin Marie (British English lessons).
Long videos + Shorts
Yes, both from the same recording. The long video is the main job; each Short is one complete point cut from it, vertical, with large captions near the top and nothing under the app’s buttons. Only long videos is fine too.
Editing style
Clean and professional, with text and simple graphics: tight cuts that remove pauses, retakes and mistakes; key points on screen as you say them; simple highlights and lower thirds; subtitles; natural colour and clean audio; no effect on every sentence.
How many videos
One a week (four a month) is the usual rhythm; two or three a week also works. Start with one: a free 1-minute test edit on your own footage.
Monthly budget
At $55 to $150 per finished video, four videos a month come to about $220 to $600, so a $300–$700 a month budget fits one long video a week. Shorts go into the same quote: tell me how many per video. Bigger budgets: see $1,000 a month; smaller: $300.
Video length
From 5-minute lessons (Erin Marie’s run 5 to 7 minutes) to 20–40 minute videos to camera. Longer recordings get a custom quote.
What you send me
Your clips to camera (all the takes, I pick the best), the script or outline if you have one, your logo, fonts and colours, and one video whose style you want to keep.
Turnaround
First video in 1 to 5 days, then 1 to 2 days; revisions back within 24 hours. Replies usually within a few hours.
Who you work with
Kevin Tabares, directly. I review every video before it reaches you.
Channel language
English or Spanish.
Terms
Paid in USD by PayPal or USDC. No contract, no minimum.

What a talking head edit includes

A video to camera lives on the person talking. The edit should be almost invisible: the viewer remembers what you said, not the cuts. This is the checklist I work through on every video.

Proof: English by Erin Marie

English by Erin Marie is a British English teaching channel. Each lesson is recorded to camera in short takes; I deliver the long lesson with phrases on screen timed to her voice, subtitles, and the Shorts cut from it. Lengths and views read with the YouTube Data API on Oct 13, 2026:

The full method for this channel (phrases timed to the voice, listening practice, subtitles learners can trust) is on the English teaching channels page.

Plainly: talking head is one format I edit, not the only one. Most of the 1,250 videos on my YT Jobs profile are long-form gaming (Roblox, Minecraft); I also edit narrated documentaries. What carries over to a video to camera is the same work: pacing for retention, text that lands on the right word, clean audio, and Shorts that stand on their own. The free 1-minute test on your footage is how you check it before paying.

Prices

$55–$150 per finished video depending on complexity; up to $300 for some long or complex edits. A typical example by finished length:

Finished lengthTypical price
up to 10 min$55
up to 20 min$150
up to 35 min$300
over 35 mincustom quote

Erin Marie’s 5 to 7 minute lessons land in the first row. Shorts cut from each video are added to the same quote. Full terms (payment, revisions, monthly plans) are on the pricing page.

How to choose a talking head editor, on any platform

Whether you hire on a freelance marketplace, a job board or directly, four checks save most of the risk:

  1. Ask for talking head samples, not a gaming reel. Watch the cuts between takes, whether text ever covers the face, and whether the captions match what was said.
  2. Ask for a short test on your own footage. One minute is enough to judge cuts, text and audio.
  3. Compare price per finished video, not per hour. An hourly rate does not tell you what a 10-minute video will cost.
  4. Check who edits. One person who learns your style, or a different editor each week.

FAQ

What does a talking head video editor do?

A talking head editor turns your recording to camera into a finished video: picks the best take of each line, removes pauses, retakes and mistakes, cleans the audio, adds on-screen text and simple graphics at the moment you say the point, adds subtitles, and cuts Shorts from the long video. The goal is that the viewer watches you, not the edit.

How much does a talking head video editor cost?

My price is $55–$150 per finished video depending on complexity; up to $300 for some long or complex edits. As a typical example by finished length: up to 10 minutes $55, up to 20 minutes $150, up to 35 minutes $300. One long video a week is about $220 to $600 a month, so a $300 to $700 monthly budget fits it. Exact quote within 24 hours, after a free 1-minute test edit.

Can you edit both my long videos and my Shorts?

Yes. I edit the long video first and cut the Shorts from the same recording: each Short is one complete point, vertical, with large captions near the top. Tell me how many Shorts you want per video and they go into the same quote. If you only want the long videos, I edit only those.

Have you edited talking head videos before?

Yes. I edit English by Erin Marie, a British English teaching channel: lessons to camera of about 5 to 7 minutes, published since September 2026, plus the Shorts cut from them. Most of the 1,250 videos on my YT Jobs profile are long-form gaming; I also edit narrated documentaries. Talking head is one format I edit, and this page shows exactly how.

What editing style do you use for talking head videos?

Clean and professional by default: tight cuts between takes, on-screen text for the key points, simple graphics and highlights, subtitles you can trust, natural colour and clean audio, and no effects on every sentence. If your channel already has a style (fonts, colours, a reference video), I match it.

Do I need a script?

No. Send your clips to camera and, if you have one, the script or outline. With a script I check every take against it and keep the best one; without one, I follow what you said and cut the repeats.

How many videos a month can you edit for me?

One a week is the usual rhythm for a talking head channel, and two or three a week also works. Start with one video: the free 1-minute test on your own footage, then the first full video in 1 to 5 days and the next ones in 1 to 2.

Send me one video to camera

Send me your channel link and one raw recording through the contact form. I’ll edit one minute of it for free and reply with an exact quote.
