Quick fit check: is this editor right for your channel?

Video types
Lore videos from a script and a voiceover, Silksong challenges (room, item and enemy randomizers, one crest only, bosses in a set order, starting Act 3 with nothing), boss rankings, trailer and footage breakdowns, full playthroughs
Editing style
What I would do for Hollow Knight: lore built line by line on the right place or character, challenges with the rule and the crest on screen, and boss fights cut on the hit with the music kept. Close to the documentaries I cut from script and voiceover
Video length
Hollow Knight videos vary: Tu Sowl’s Silksong challenges 21 minutes to 1 hour 24 (most around 25), mossbag’s lore and rankings 8 minutes to 1 hour 17, measured on Oct 18, 2026. A 25-minute challenge lands in the $300 package; long lore videos get a custom quote. I also edit longer: Swaylemc’s full movies on my YT Jobs profile run 60 to 234 minutes.
Upload schedule
One video only, 1 video per week, 2–3 videos per week, 4 videos per month or several a week (Mud: about 3 a week). Start with one pilot: the free 1-minute test edit.
Format
Long-form YouTube videos are the core. YouTube Shorts cut from each long video on request.
What you send me
Gameplay and voice recording, ready to edit, or long recordings that need trimming and story building. Separate mic tracks help.
Estimated price
About $55 to $150 per finished video (up to $300 for some long or complex edits), depending on length, raw footage and effects. That fits the ‘$50+’ and ‘$100–$300 per video’ boxes for most long videos. Four videos a month: about $220 to $600 (more for long or complex videos); a $500 a month budget usually covers two to four long videos, depending on length. Exact quote within 24 hours, after a free 1-minute test edit.
Channel size
From under 1K subscribers (Mr. Marticson, 834) and small to mid-size channels (ThatNoob 4.9K, Crazz 10.7K, DakBlox 82.6K: 0 to 2M+ views in six months) up to 2M+ (Rex 2.29M, Puff 1.83M, Mud 1.26M)
Turnaround
First video in 1 to 5 days, then 1 to 2 days; revisions back within 24 hours
Track record
Proven YouTube results: 1,250 videos tracked on YT Jobs and 20 reviews from 19 client channels, 17 of them 10/10. Long-term work: Mud since March 2025, about 3 videos a week.

My experience and Hollow Knight, plainly

What big Hollow Knight channels upload in 2026

Measured on October 18, 2026, from the most recent long videos of Tu Sowl, mossbag and Mykra, a year after Silksong came out. Tu Sowl’s Silksong challenges run from 21 minutes to 1 hour 24, mossbag’s videos from 8 minutes to 1 hour 17. The formats that keep coming back:

How I would edit your Hollow Knight videos

No Hollow Knight client has sent me footage yet, so read this as my plan for your video. Each point comes from work I already do: narrated documentaries for The Interpreter and THE SPY SHOW, Mud’s update news and Crazz’s 99 Nights challenge runs.

Lore built line by line

A lore video is a documentary with a game as the archive. I would put on screen the exact place, character or item each line talks about, add a name card the first time someone appears and leave a short pause after the line that changes how you see the story, the way I cut the narrated documentaries for The Interpreter.

Freeze, zoom, circle

For a trailer breakdown or a lore detail hidden in the background, I would freeze the frame, zoom in and circle the detail, then play it again at normal speed. In Mud’s Roblox Rivals news the newsworthy moment comes first, and the same rule fits a trailer breakdown.

The rule and the crest on screen

For a one-crest or no-upgrades run I would show the rule and the current crest and tools in a small card that comes back each time they change, so the viewer can check the rule holds.

A map for randomizers

In a room randomizer, the joke is that the door leads somewhere absurd. I would show a small map arrow or the area name each time a door changes zone, so viewers follow the route without having played it.

Boss fights on the hit, with the music

Hollow Knight’s soundtrack is part of why people watch. I would cut boss fights on the hit, show the first death in full and the rest behind an attempt counter, and keep the boss theme under the voice instead of replacing it.

Rankings with one card

For a boss ranking I would give every boss the same card (name, area, the attack that makes it hard) and a tier list that fills up as the video goes, like the worst-to-best ranking I cut for BaconsOwnTheUniverse.

Closest real examples of my gaming work

Five videos I edited, chosen because their format sits closest to a Hollow Knight video: two narrated documentaries, a Mud update breakdown, Puff’s random-chunk Minecraft and a ranking from worst to best. Watch the first minute of the one closest to your format.

None of these is Hollow Knight. Views from the YouTube Data API on Oct 13, 2026; links open the video on YouTube.

FAQ

Have you edited Hollow Knight videos before?

No, I haven’t edited Hollow Knight videos for a client yet. The closest work I’ve done is narrated documentaries for The Interpreter and THE SPY SHOW, update breakdowns for Mud and Crazz’s 99 Nights challenge runs. All of it is on my YT Jobs profile. To see my cut on your own footage before you pay, ask for the free 1-minute test edit.

Can you edit my Hollow Knight videos?

Yes. Send your script and voiceover, or a few minutes of raw footage from one boss or one challenge, and I edit one minute of it for free, so you can judge the cut before paying. I edit long-form videos, from 10 minutes to full movies of several hours.

Can you edit a lore video from my script and voiceover?

Yes, that is how I edit documentaries. Send the script, the voiceover and your gameplay library or a list of the scenes you want, and I match every line to a shot. You check names and places in the first draft.

Can you turn around a trailer breakdown fast?

Yes. After the first video, edits come back in 1 to 2 days. For a breakdown I would start with the frames you want to talk about and build the freeze frames and zooms around your voiceover.

Do you edit other metroidvanias and indie games?

Yes. The same approach works for Nine Sols, Cult of the Lamb or whatever you play next: rule cards, a map when the route matters and the music kept.

How much does a Hollow Knight YouTube editor cost?

My price is $55–$150 per finished video depending on complexity; up to $300 for some long or complex edits. By finished length: up to 10 minutes $55, up to 20 minutes $150, up to 35 minutes $300; longer videos get a custom quote. No contract and no minimum.
